Do solder-seal connectors work with a lighter or match?
No. You need a heat source that reaches at least 280F/138C consistently across the entire connector. A standard heat gun or butane torch works. A lighter doesn't generate enough even heat and you'll get an incomplete seal.
Can I use crimp connectors if I seal them with liquid electrical tape?
You can, but you're adding a second step to solve a problem that solder-seal connectors handle in one step. Liquid tape also degrades over time from UV and engine heat.
Are Wago connectors safe for 12V automotive use?
